Brethren Retirement Community was founded in 1902 and is an accredited, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located in west central Ohio.
Our History...
Brethren Retirement Community was founded in 1902 as a ministry of the Southern Ohio District of the Church of the Brethren. Today almost 500 elders of many faiths enjoy living within this community. Many of our residents have come from towns and counties in Ohio, and some have joined our community from as far away as Oregon, Florida, Maine, and California!

What began as a journey of faith for the 29 residents of the Brethren Home over 100 years ago is, today, a place that over 450 of our friends, neighbors, and family members call home. As we continue on this journey of faith and service, we have made it our ambition to provide what we believe is the quality of life that every senior in our community deserves. That is why Brethren Retirement Community exists. We fully accept this challenge, knowing that honoring it is as demanding as it is rewarding.

Brethren Retirement Community exists to offer seniors a high quality of life in a Christian community where each day is filled with hope and friendship and the future holds the promise of excellence in care.
