Pastoral Care

 Spiritual_Life.jpg

Meeting the spiritual needs of our residents and their families is an integral part of the care provided at Brethren Retirement Community. Our professional pastoral care team is respectful and nurturing; offering spiritual support, in collaboration with the resident's own pastor, as they assist persons with changes in health and life situations.

Our pastoral care services include personal visitation, regular Bible studies and worship services, anointings, communion, grief support, memorial services, and special holiday worship service. There is a chaplain on site seven days a week to offer guidance and support to our residents and their families.

Our chaplains are here to assist residents and families in their spiritual life and growth by:

  • Friendship and prayer support
  • Presence in times of need
  • Helping to stay connected to their own family of faith
  • Listening/counseling upon request
  • Providing opportunities and resources for learning and growth
  • Providing communion or anointing as requested

There are many opportunities for residents to worship through:

  • Daily devotions
  • Friday evening Sunday School
  • Sunday afternoon worship each week in the chapel
  • Monthly Catholic Mass
  • Bi-Annual Memorial Services remembering our residents who have passed away
  • Anointing services offered four times a year, and individually as requested
  • Occasional hymn sings
  • Scheduled Bible studies on various topics and books of the Bible
  • Bible readings and weekly worship service in Rosewood Center and Assisted Living
  • Special services for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Good Friday, and Memorial Day
